Okay, I didn't do so great in the profiling area. I missed five. However, in my defense, although several had the same answer, they did NOT sound THAT similar. I have never been a person who has paid more attention to the "WAY" a person says something - opposed to "WHAT" they say. I have to admit it is interesting & I caught myself listening to different people at the store today.
I missed five. I had a hard time distinguising the hispanic speakers, but I did well with the black, white, and the only indian since the local convenient store in my town is ran by Indian brothers. I never heard a carribean accent, so I missed that one.
Without the answer key, this was harder than I predicted. I was able to confidently answer about half of them, the others were tough to distinguish. It was interesting to see the faces match up with the voices. I do think that exercises like these encourage greater attention to the way individual voices sound.

ReplyDeleteI missed several; I was confused on one question, I answered African American and it was wrong, so I typed in Black it was correct.
ReplyDeleteWOW, interesting test. I got 4 of them wrong on the first try.
ReplyDeleteThis was harder than I thought it'd be. I didn't do so good.
ReplyDeleteI missed 4. It was hard distinguishing the Latino and Caribbean readings for me.

ReplyDeleteI missed 3, I had a hard time with the Hispanic speakers. I’m not sure why but I thought one was African-American.
ReplyDeleteI missed five of them. I had a hard time telling what some of them were but others came through real easy.
